Building Talab Kenar in the USA
Do you dream of having all the family members in USA at the same place? How about a goal talab in the middle of our adobe homes? Any suggestion? Like cheaper place to buy huge land and develop accordingly?
Imagine people gathering for the baithak! or singing "mehendi mere lala range ...." around the talab?
How about the retired people sitting in the porch and enjoying their grandsons and duagthers growing up?
Can we change this dream into reality???

Arranged Marriage...Yay or Nay
Branching from the thought provoking discussion of racism, I would like to offer this second societal quandary; What are some of our audiences opinion on arranged marriage?
Beginning from our early Nawabs, this tradition is alive and well today, even in culturally modernized places such as the US and UK. Is this planned pairing of matrimonial partners more of a collectivistic or individualistic act? I mean, do the parents join their respective offsprings to ensure a solid partnership between the two, or is arranged marriage more of a collaboration of two families?
Who is the true beneficiary of this outcome? How much say do the children have in this decision?
Your thoughts ladies and gentlemen.
Respectfully submitted,
"Lo Karlo Baath"

Words and Phrases used in the Nawab Family
In the Nawab Family there are certain words or phrases from old Urdu which are still being used.
Although many in the Urdu speaking world don't use those words any more.
For instance, we say 'jhari'(old Urdu word for rain) instead of 'baarish'. We say 'bechona'(old Urdu word for bed) instead of 'bistar'. Or when we say 'chedda paisa' or 'kana cori' (we refer to an old coin with a hole in it called a Cori).
For instance, we say 'kaleja ka tukra' (a piece of my liver) to our dear ones, meaning they are like our liver we can't survive without them as we couldn't with out our liver.
Do you remember any old words(not derogatory remarks) that we still use subconsciously ?

JCC in Action
A fund raising dinner was held for Jamaica Cricket Club at Humza Restaurant.
JCC participated last year in the Bangladesh Cricket league of New York held in Kissena Park ground in Flushing.
Unfortunately, JCC ranked 10th among the ten participating teams. Due to their limited exposure in professional arena JCC came close to victory in only three games. It is to be noted that the other teams are often blessed with the service of visiting Bangladeshi divisional players.
Once again this year JCC is participating in the league. This year they are more seasonal and under the auspices of veteran Wanderer’s batsman Khwaja Mizan Hassan. With Shahadat’s inclusion seven players of the team comes from Dhaka Nawab family. The greatest strength of the team is family bond-ness.
We will keep you posted on JCC”s progress in the league which starts from May 20, 2006. Come and see the team in action and boots their moral.

Globalization
Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization?
Answer: Princess Diana's death.
Question: How come?
Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunkon Scottish whisky, followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,on Japanese motorcycles;treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines. This is sent to you by Nawabrian, using Bill Gates' technology, and you're probably reading this on your computer, that use Taiwanese chips, and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by Pakistan lorry-drivers hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, and trucked to you by Mexican illegals......hat, my friend, is Globalization.

4 the young american teenagers
ok I don't know how everyone else feels about this but i think racism is everywhere throughout our family. now by me saying this it wont make a difference but think abt it the racism we have agaisnt banglis is retarded. our family thinkz its better tahnk banglis mean while we r from the same place. only because were nawabas. if u think abt it that was our ancestors. half our family is in a bad condition. so y b different?it just doesnt make sense. then our racism againt blacks ,whites, lationso. man we need to stop. really we do.you know some black pplz are better than our nawab family. noone b offended. one mroe thing styreo typing. the old people are old so let them go but we are teh new generation n we have to teach the generation after us to sop racism and styreotyping. how many of u go down the strret an see a black person n get scared? how many of u look at a mexican n go ha mexican? how many of u look at a chinese n go chinco? that needs to stop
