From Gup shup to Jhagra Jhati

Dear fellow nawabbarians and non-nawabbarians
After reading many many posts here at the DNF sites, I am really thrilled that the main purpose of this site, to bring together the scattered family of Nawabbari, has been materialized. On the other hand, I am also disturbed to see arguments turned from civilized to mud-slinging and insulting form.
About the picnic posts - First of all Sadat should have been more careful about picking the words. Keep in mind even though the site was created mainly to serve Nawabbarians for many purposes such as contacts, lastest family news, genealogy etc, it is also open to every soul in this world. Also, this site has been created by DNF team to serve as a source for many researchers and historians. Other main purpose of this site is to present the Bangladeshi brethrens the truth about us when, most of the times we are perceived as "traitors", "ruthless rulers", "racist", "pro-Pakistani" and any many more. So, all of us must adhere to the highest possible standard while communicating at this site as well anywhere else:-)
What Sadat meant to say was it will be unfair to allow one family member to bring his friends and say no to others. And if we allow other family member to bring even 1 extra guest per member, the number will swell into 200+. Even though it is completely upto the Picnic organizer to decide what will be the best course of action n a given situation, I would say it will be a heavy burden on them since their work load will multiply. Unfortunately it is only Anas and Saniya with some help from Shadat who managed the whole thing. What we do as the participants that, we only pay our due and take a cool and enjoyable ride to the picnic spot and enjoy the never ending delicacies from Dunkin donut/coffee to Murag Polao to Jhaal muri. After that we simply wipe our mouth and go back home. Some people comment that they did their part by paying the "chanda". Those people should know that Anas and Saniya spends hours to run to every ones home to collect money which takes hundreds of phone calls and hundreds of trips. Spends countless time to order food, pick it up serve it. Spend countless time to arrange for the transportation and picnic spot. Arrange countless time to print t-shirts and may more. What they do is for the love of the family. What we do is simply find ways to criticize them.
I haven't found a single person in the last two years of the PICNIC arrangement who came forward to help that, and it includes me. All we hear is pledges for help! Some people at the bus stop even refused to volunteer picking up goods to and from the bus because they paid "CHANDA"! Well I can tell you that Anas and Saniya paid their chanda and also boiled lots of "Anda" for us!
Anyway, bottom line is, it is quit impossible to accommodate guests for every people who wish to come to the PICNIC. I do have many friends who had expressed their desire to join us. But I had simply refused them in proper manner stating that we do not have enough room for others. It has nothing being a racist nor narrow minded. It is simply a matter of economics. They simply do not have the adequate labor force or volunteers to accommodate more than 100-120 people.
Please consider these matters before you make any un-realistic comment. Instead of risking a total cancellation of the picnic, please at least show some moral support for Anas and Saniya so that they can proceed with planning the 2006 event. In this case they will at least know that what they are doing is being appreciated. If the picnic is not arranged by them, I am pretty sure, none of us will come forward to arrange one. It will be more loss to us than them!
Anyway, here are some of the cool stuffs that will be available soon in the website: Baithak ka Gana! Ramzan Ka shehri! Imagine during the shehri, you can turn on the "Mahe ramzan alvida....." at the
www.nawababari.com
site from anywhere in the world!
We wish you all the best. I on behalf of Anas, Saniya and Belal would like to say that we very grateful that you visit the site and post your comments. But in additional to the negative comments, we also lust for some Taarif from you as well. After all Insaan hi houn humlog!
Arshad
