Given the Dhaka Nawab Family's contribution, do you think that a member of the family should be given a Honorary seat in the parliament as an observer.
What are your views ?

May I draw your attention that Begum Shamshunahar Ahsunullah , Wife of Nawabzada Ahsunullah, Grand daughter of Nawab Sir Salimullah is an MP of Bagladesh Parliament from the ruling BNP from reseverved women seat and she is an very active politician.
There is no guarantee that she will still be there if the Awami League takes over after the next elections.
Begum Ahsanullah as a member of the Dhaka Nawab Family should be considered above all political parties and should be brought in via the reserved women's seats regardless of which party wins the next election.
Age is a factor. Who will she hand the torch to after she retires?
One cannot force a country for a seat in parliament just as because their forefather had done something for the country. And may I ask who is the person that could represent the Dhaka Nawab Family in the Parliament ? Instead of a seat in the Parliament it would have been better if Government can provide a Quota for the childrens of Dhaka Nawab Family to study in Dhaka University, Salimullah Medical College and BUET . What do you say?
What's wrong with Kaiser Morshed (Career Diplomat), Farooq Sobhan (Career Diplomat) and Yasmeen Morshed (Educator) as MP?
Yasmeen Morshed's name had also surfaced during the formation of the last caretaker government.
Farooq Sobhan, former Foreign Secretary was also State Minister during the last Awami League Govt.
We can't force the Govt to give us a seat but just Observer Status, an honorary post. It's doable, actually Begum Ahsanullah could also ask the PM to create such a post. No biggie, really !
I agree, we should also try for quotas in Dhaka University, Salimullah Medical College and BUET.
An honorary seat in the parliament? a sure non-starter. Try this;
"Rewards are extended on the basis of performences" in parliamentry democracy this would be creating positive public opinion or in bangla "JONOMOT" or grassroot public support.
I note with interest that this topic's starting date is February 21,2006 and there was no mention or any post regarding "MOHAN AKUSHE" by any member of DNF.....why not?
As Ayn Rand said "one can not discuss philosophy while standing on one foot"
Iftekhar bhai, Ask yourself for a second what language you think in.
The language you think in would be your mother tongue.
The 21st of February is indeed a day of remembrance. Just because nobody brought it up, Mohan Akushe, doesn't mean that our hearts don't go out to the martyred. In fact it does and we remember them, always.
In case you didn't know, because of the martyrs of the Bengali language movement, 21st of February is observed every year all over the world as International Mother Langauge Day. This day was declared by UNESCO.
it is not wise to ask a seat in parliament just b,cos of nawab family.kalko, dusre re known family like panny family and essa khan family will claim for same.keeping the flame of nawab family alive?yar apni khushbu khud mehkao.like other member do in past.but i am in favour of study quota.
i think it not wise to asking a seat in parliament b,cos of only belongs to nawab family.kalko dosre family like essa khan family, panny family will be claim for the same.i agree with the view of mr saifullah for the claiming quota in the educational instituetions.we should not repeat that our pidram sultan bud.apni posstion aap banao.ezhar.
