ABDULLAH WELFARE TRUST

I am amazed to see the growing interest in Abdullah Welfare Trust. And thanks to Nawab Bari site where many of us can post views and voice our concern. But this alone is not enough unless the members of the family come forward and help the trust with their active participation.

The case between Advocate Ghani and trust is believed to be a set up which eventually made a significant dent to trust's coffer. I heard about some new recruits in the trust putting their best effort to overhaul the complete system. But any progress is just not possible unless those unscruplous members are thrown out of it. I would request Iftekhar to probe Rehan to cough out details about their plan and progress. Best regards....Waseem Arzoo

Do not plan to bring a non Nawabbarian guest- this is a 100% family picnic

Do not plan to bring a non Nawabbarian guest- this is a 100% family picnic
Shahadat

Now, this is discusting, this reflect nothing but low self- estreem of the writer/poster and the site managers for allowing such a line, they should have removed this line.

I hope and pray, that the new generation of Nawabbarian's in America no longer keep their women under the bed in burkah and prevent them from going to school in the name of islam and or tradition.

It's a common tradition that during family picnic is when, one invite friends of family. If one is ashamed to reflect his own family tradition openly than God knows the true meaning of "TEHZEEB, TRADITION & CULTURE"

Please remember "Year is 2006"

No Group or Person Selling Talab "Khwaja Rehan Bakht"

I am writing from New York after my long discussion with Khwaja Rehan Bakht regarding rumor "that a group of family members from Nawab Barian (Proja Party) and Shahbagan (Nain Sharer) is trying to sell "Our Beloved Talab" which is presently valued at about 120 crores Takas or more.

I met Khwaja Rehan Bakth of Dubai, a dynamic member of "Moulvi Abdullah Trust" who is presently visiting New York last week. I met Rehan along with Syed Osama Shehbazi.

Following are the comments made by Rehan when I ask him about Talab selling rumor.

(1) Its all Bogus! There exist no such discussion by any member of "Moulvi Abdullah Trust" which legally own Talab. We are talking with nobody regarding selling Talab. This is non-sense.

(2) Question of even 1% ownership of Talab by nain sharers is totally false. 100% of Talab is own by proja party or "Moulvi Abdullah Trust" . "according to Khwaja Rehan Bakth, "I am telling you this as fact! because, I have studied the documents of final settlement by late Khwaja Nazimuddin, many times.

(3) When I asked Khwaja Rehan, why there is rumors of some ownership of Talab by Nain Sharer,s and they are also being rumored as active party wanting to sell? He explained to me, that the original document known as final settlement only says, that the " owners of Talab is hereby "requested" to include some members of Nain Sharers related administration or management committee that oversee Talab during fishing/angling sports season".

(4) So ownership of Talab by Nain Sharer's are nothing but a hoax.

(5) Khwaja Rehan also told me that the trust is working with someone to release some 6 crore takas from the Bangladesh government that is owed to Moulvi Abdullah Trust related to the sale of Ahsan Manzil and sorrounding areas. When I asked him about the interest on that 6 crore since 1992, I did not get a satisfactory answer.

(6) Khwaja Rehan further said, that money (Moshara) distributed this year from the trust to the family members were distributed from the profits for the first time in history. Moulvi Abdullah Trust is now in best financial position and Talab is bringing in some 2.5 Laks in revenues per month? alone.

Respectfully submitted

Non Resident Nawabbarians (NRN): vote

More members of the Nawab family are living abroad now than anytime in the recent memory.
These non resident Nawab Barians (NRN) still feel strongly about their roots,
have interst in hometown, and want to participate in the family affair.

Should they be allowed to vote by mail/email in the electoral process of "B: Association or of Moulvi Abdullah welfare trust?

"BHOG" unresolved mystery of Talab

Many people died in the Gol Talab. These deaths could be explained in the following two ways:

Scientific: An unskilled swimmer may go in deep water and drown. Or a good swimmer could drown due to muscle cramp while swimming.

Mythological: It is belief of many that the completion of any big construction (e.g. bridge, power dam) requires sacrificial blood of an animal. This blood pleases "Devi" and gets her blessing.
While ignoring this sacrificial ritual brings her wrath. Then she starts taking life every year.

May be, when this Talab was dug first time, everyone forgot the sacrificial part. Now this Devi’s/goddess wrath comes in the form of BHOG. Eyewitness say that they have seen floating hair. However when the water of the goal Talab was pumped out during the late 70's, people awaited for surprise. Dashing the hope of many nothing was found.

Conclusion:
While swimming in the middle of the Talab, weeds kiss your feet and the water temperature changes. Have you ever felt chills run down your spine?
Do you believe in BHOG?

Are we inspiring our young ones?

There is a famous saying in Farsi, "Pidram Sultan Bood", which means when a person was asked what he did for a living he replied, "Well my father was Sultan Bood".

Are we inspiring our young ones to outshine our ancestors or our very simply relishing the past ?
Why isn't there a single diplomat or a politician from the family today?

An Honorary seat in the Parliament

Given the Dhaka Nawab Family's contribution, do you think that
a member of the family should be given a Honorary seat in the parliament
as an observer.

What are your views ?

Ghostwriter of “Titles”

In the late 60’s Nawabbarians waited for the most coveted mail. On every 1st of April this anxious wait was for the mail with “Titles”. After a lull decade, they again popped up in the 80’s for a year or two.

This Ghostwiter/s (?) was/were not only well informed but also tight lipped. Though the letters triggered both fun and furiosity throughout kothi; the anger and frustration calmed down in couple of days.

But Ghostwriter’s given titles have won over time like the old Hindi songs (i.e Saiya Dilme Ana Re). These titles were effective enough to burry many real names.

There were many finger pointing and mud-slinging.
However none could bring compelling forensic evidence to implicate any individual.
Who were these Ghostwriter of “Titles”?

Pink Ahsan Manzil

I grew up watching Ahsan Manzil faded brown.
After the reconstruction it was painted pink.
What was the original exterior color of Ahsan Manzil?

Selling Talab?

There is a rumor that a group of people are very active looking for a suitable buyer of talab.
Do you support the idea of selling the Talab in Nawababri?
The nawabbarian's living outside Nawababri or living abroad probably might not care.
Some are just interested on netting cash.
Does anyone care about ecological consequence?
Isn't B association and MAW trust has to agree on this first?
